About Course: School of Social Sciences of IGNOU has developed the programme IGNOU –MA in Psychology to deal with varied problems of human behavior. It was started in context with great demand for psychologists from many schools, hospitals, both private and public as well as the voluntary welfare agencies and correctional institutions.

Qualification Criteria: Candidates, who have obtained Bachelor's degree from a recognized university, are eligible to get admission in such programme.

Ph. D in Rural Development {PhD (RD)}

Name of the Course: IGNOU – Ph. D in Rural Development {PhD (RD)}

About Course: Indira Gandhi National Open University has developed the programme Ph. D in Rural Development for professionals and teachers for making research with guidelines. This programme becomes helpful in wide investigation of various problems and issues in their field.

Objective of the course: The main objective of IGNOU – Doctor of Philosophy in Hindi is to develop skill and competencies in professionals and teachers of solving difficulties and issues.

Subject Details: Candidate who have obtain degree of M. Phil in any subject (other than Rural Development) have to take three compulsory course; namely;
a) Rural Development-Indian Context
b) Rural Development Planning & Management
c) Research Methods in Rural Development

Course Duration: Duration of the course is 2 to 5 years.

Course Fee: A candidate has to pay Rs.14000/- as course fee.

Qualification Criteria: 
  • I) Candidates having completed MARD degree with B grade are eligible to take admission in the programme IGNOU – Doctor of Philosophy in Hindi. Candidates have to submit two papers chosen by them and present before Doctoral committee.
  • II) Candidates, who obtained degree of M. Phil in any subject (other than Rural Development) may take three compulsory course; namely,
    • a) Rural Development-Indian Context
    • b) Rural Development Planning & Management
    • c) Research Methods in Rural Development (However, Doctoral Committee may give exemption candidate from taking the Research methodology course)
  • III) Candidates from other disciplines (other than Rural Development) and not having M. Phil will have to complete three compulsory courses and also submit two papers as shown in option (I).

Mode of Selection: there is no any entrance test for admission in this programme. Candidates are required to present application and proposal for research before Doctoral Committee and research council.

Age Criteria: There is no any age restriction. Any qualified person can get admission in particular course.
